So here are the pics of my finds this weekend, plus the carding I did. The mohair locks were a bit felty, but that's ok. They're going into an art yarn. The ribbons don't have a plan for now. I'm just happy I have them! The green batt is the first of the colorway "Forest" I will make. Don't know what for yet, or if it is done. I'm not fond of the way the glitz is distributed. Lastly, the green and pink was made from drumcarder waste, all carded together. Will probably end up as art yarn, too.

Busy Little Bee
It's been a rough week, so I haven't had much to say. My plan as of Friday was to stay in bed the entire weekend. Luckily, by Saturday morning, I decided to change the plan. After I dropped hubby off at work, I went food shopping. We haven't done a real food shopping in a couple of months. Mostly it consists of small trips to the supermarket to buy what we need for dinner that night. I hate shopping like that because I know it wastes money and also, makes planning a nightmare! I spent a pretty penny and now my crazy uncle has me going online to check out all the circulars on Saturday morning to see if there are any good sales on meat! The freezer is stocked and it feels great!

Scrounging on Starr Street
Hey all. Yesterday I went thrift shopping and scored a button stash. OMG, it was awesome. I've been so inspired by all the embellished purses and accessories on Ravelry that I needed to expand my button stash. It wasn't terrible, but it could certainly be enhanced. What stash couldn't? I went to my favorite thrift shop on Starr Street. First, I beelined my way to where I know they hide the sewing supplies, scrounged around in the drawers and dug, dug, dug into the buttons. Then, I grabbed a cup because I couldn't hold anymore in my hand. My cup overfloweth, so, I found a clear box of buttons, dumped those out and continued building my custom button stash. Also, I found a thread organizing box. What luck! Add to that a copper mold of the sun to add to my kitchen collection and two vintage 50s knitting pattern books (one for men's items, and another for people who like knitting dresses with size 3 needles.) All for $19. I could've haggled, but it really was a deal. Those thread boxes cost that much easy.
